Prophet Nuh- Part 1
Prophet Nuh is the first messenger to be sent directly to Earth. Previously, Prophet Adam was originally an inhabitant of Jennah and was sent to earth later. Prophet Nuh is from the lineage of Prophet Adam’s son Shith or Seth. He is mentioned 43 times in the Quran.
Idol Worship in the Descendants of Prophet Adam:
The estimated time between Prophet Adam and Prophet Nuh is around 1200 to 1500 years. It is important to note that even though Prophet Adam made a lot of efforts to make his children aware and conscious of Shaytan, as time went by his descendants did start falling into the temptation and traps of Shaytan. To say “they were the close descendants of the first prophet so how could this happen?” is a very baseless statement. If shaytan tried to tempt a Prophet himself, why would he leave his children alone? As time passed, the descendants of Prophet Adam fell into idol worship. One of the biggest ways to lead people into idol worshipping is to encourage them to have something in front of them while they are worshipping Allah.
Lessons:
Our masks and medications, our shelters and emergency procedures can protect us from worldly problems with Allah’s help, However, in order to overcome the attack on the heart and the soul by shaytan, we not only need Allah’s help but we need to have a strong bond with Him as well. This way, shaytan cannot create a wedge between us.
Prophet Nuh was thus given the responsibility to revive the lost practices of Tawheed (oneness of Allah).
May Allah SWT free our hearts from the Shaytaan and strengthen our bond with Him!
